Our Impact
Creative, connected and unapologetically proud
We do things differently – and we do them with purpose. As Logan’s only LGBTQIA+ artist-run organisation, we don’t just create events. We create space for stories, for connection, for visibility.
Our work is grounded in evidence. National research shows arts engagement boosts mental health, builds social cohesion and strengthens communities. Over 80% of Australian’s agree the arts are good for wellbeing – including mental health (89%), social health (84%), physical health (70%), family life (72%), community life (75%), and knowledge and skills (82%). We turn that insight into action – right here on the ground.
We’re not here to play it safe. We’re here to change what’s possible – in the arts, in our city and in the lives of those too often left out. And we’re just getting started.

2024 Snapshot
Celebrating connection, creativity and community
In 2024, Assorted Grains brought together thousands of people across Logan and beyond through powerful storytelling, inclusive celebrations, and boundary-pushing arts programming.
We championed local artists, empowered LGBTQIA+ youth, and co-created platforms for underrepresented voices—from the skatepark to the stage, from gallery walls to film screens. This was a year of deepened partnerships, first-time festivals, and bold visibility for our community.
Here’s a snapshot of what we created together:

We couldn’t have done it without you
Of course, none of this would be possible without our supporters. So to our sponsors, funders, partners and community: thank you. You helped make this happen.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of Australia. We pay our respects to the Elders past and present as the traditional Custodians of the lands and waters. We acknowledge their living culture and their traditional art forms. We recognise that the land where we live, learn, create and work is Yugembah, Jagera/Yugerra, Turrbul and Bundjalung land and sovereignty was never ceded. We’re committed to building and sustaining respect and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists.
